An April Supreme Court ruling significantly weakened the 1965 Voting Rights Act, finding that Louisiana’s 2024 congressional map—which created a second majority-Black district to remedy racial vote dilution—was an unconstitutional racial gerrymander. But don’t despair: write postcards to Georgia! Your postcards urging Black voters in the Atlanta and rural Black Belt regions to vote will help increase fair representation in local, state, and federal offices.
Once again, we are partnering with Reclaim Our Vote, a campaign of the Center for Common Ground (CCG). CCG is a minority-led, nonpartisan organization that educates and empowers voters of color in voter suppression states. Sign up today to complete a packet of postcard. Materials will be available for pickup at St. John’s starting on Sunday, July 26. After completing the postcards, you’ll hold them to mail in October, closer to the November 3 election.
