From volunteering for a single event to committing to one of our many service ministries, your involvement is crucial.
WITHIN OUR PARISH:
Our care extends throughout the journey of life. From supporting new parents to ensuring that those unable to attend services still receive communion, our active pastoral care ministries stand ready to offer support during life’s most challenging moments—be it grief, illness, or any life crisis.
within WITH our broader community:
Our parishioners are hands-on with local organizations to provide essential services like food, clothing, and shelter. Initiatives like Nourishing Bethesda emerged from our response to immediate needs and now feeds hundreds of families weekly. Our commitment includes supporting St. John’s Opportunity Shop, a non-profit thrift store that gives back to our neighborhood. And so many more!
Within our world
Our reach extends internationally. Our Holy Land Committee is just one example of how we advocate for justice, peace and healing worldwide - with parishioners journeying regularly to the Holy Land and supporting humanitarian efforts, education, advocacy and relationship-building and understanding to advance peace.

Eliminating gun violence is a cause that calls us to unite in strength and purpose. Together, we engage in a powerful blend of prayer, education, and proactive action.
Immigrant & Refugee Ministry
We have a long tradition of supporting refugee families from countries around the world, including Vietnam, Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Gaza.
