Thanks for a Successful GVP Forum

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of our January 12 forum on Interrupting Gun Violence!

Thanks to Anne Derse, Deacon and Minister for Community Engagement,  for the beautiful and powerful opening prayer.  Thanks to our guest speakers, Senator Shelly Hettleman, Delegate Bernice Mireku-North, and Karen Herren, Director of Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence. Thanks to the audience members who raised questions and comments, especially Jan McNamara, who shared the trauma of losing her brother-in-law to gun violence, emphasized that strong advocacy is essential for passing stronger state laws, and invited us to join her at Moms Demand Action Advocacy Day in Annapolis, on Thursday, January 30th.  Thanks also to Jay Mallin for expert technical assistance, Communications Specialist Sharon Lopilato for terrific publicity before and after the forum, Tom Kennedy and Stephanie Clipper for inviting people to join our efforts, Interim Office Administrator Stefanie Van Pelt for assistance with our use of the Parish Hall, and Sextons Ceasar Osegueda and Shelisa Pineda for setting up the room.

If the forum inspired you to advocate for stronger gun safety laws, join us in Annapolis on January 30 for Moms Demand Advocacy Day and sign up for the St. John's group at Advocacy Day here:  https://forms.gle/QJUCNxYv1wWnCXvo7
