Stefanie lives in nearby East Bethesda with her family. Some years ago, before children and moving to Bethesda, she was Executive Director of the Fairbank Center for Chinese Research at Harvard University. She lived in China 5 years after college, and speaks Chinese and German. She has studied yoga, trained as an end-of-life doula and a Climate Reality leader, lobbied with Citizens Climate Lobby, and engaged in various volunteer activities, her favorite being coaching her daughter’s soccer team. She is originally from Colorado and will never say no to a hike. Her husband Stefan works at NIH, and her son Malcolm studies Atmospheric Science and Physics at UMD, while her daughter Iris is a junior at B-CC High School. Stefanie says she is impressed by all the good work done by St. John’s, and looks forward to getting to know the community.
