After months of working with officials at the State Department, St. John's Refugee Committee was finally able to receive an additional Afghan family that had been approved for a Special Immigrant Visa last year. The family—composed of a father, who worked for the U.S. military during the Afghan war, a mother, and three darling children, ages 7, 6, and 3—is currently housed nearby as we work to finalize more permanent arrangements. They are related to one of our other Afghan families, so it is a nice reunion for them, too!
