For over 30 years, Bethesda Cares has worked to raise the level of care for unhoused individuals throughout Montgomery County. Its goal is not to manage homelessness, but to end it. Outreach workers go to where unhoused individuals live, building meaningful relationships. Staff work individually with clients who agree to accept housing. In addition to helping these clients move, they also help the clients access medical benefits, social services, and counseling and visit frequently during the first year. Bethesda Cares' goal is to place every client in permanent supportive housing. (See bethesdacares.org for more.)
Donations may be made via Breeze (Select “Outreach Sunday: Bethesda Cares” from the drop-down menu.); by texting “outreach” to (301) 685-7608; or by check, payable to St. John’s Norwood with “Bethesda Cares” on the memo line. Thanks!
