Nov. 10 Adult Forum: Nourishing Bethesda

Sunday, Nov. 10  |  10:00 AM  | Parish Hall/Zoom  -

John Ross, parishioner and Executive Director of Nourishing Bethesda, shares the extraordinary story of how Nourishing Bethesda started during the pandemic as a ministry of St. John's—and since then has grown into one the largest and most successful providers of food and services in Montgomery County, now serving 5,000 people per month with more than 50,000 pounds of healthy food.

It's truly a story of faith in action.

Hear how Nourishing Bethesda just launched its Choice Market, the gold standard of food pantries in which our neighbors in need can shop for free in a grocery-store-like environment.

Did you know that NB also serves a men's shelter in Rockville, a permanent transitional housing facility in Bethesda, two low-income senior high-rises, and four Montgomery County public schools? That we work with five dozen other local organizations?

Learn also how the need in the Bethesda area is very real and growing. A recent study from the Capital Area Food Bank determined that 34 percent of households in Montgomery County have experienced food insecurity in the last year.

We stand together in our commitment to end the scourge of food insecurity in our community.

Please join us at 10:00 am on Sunday, November 10, at 10:00 am in the Parish Hall or on Zoom (bit.ly/STJNmain) and learn how you can make a difference.
