Holy Week Worship – 2025

Palm Sunday - April 13

We celebrate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, waving palm branches as the crowd did to welcome the Messiah. As in past years, a bagpiper will play as we gather outside for the Palm Sunday processional. The Norwood Ringers will accompany the choir and congregation sing the familiar “All Glory Laud and Honor.” The services will end with a dramatic reading of the Passion.

Worship times:   8:00 am, 9:00 am, 11:15 am (also livestreamed), and 5:00 pm

Maundy Thursday - April 17

We remember the Last Supper Jesus shared with his disciples and His command to love one another. The music will feature a cello accompaniment to the St John’s Choir in a dramatic movement from John Rutter's “Requiem.”  The service includes foot washing and ends with the stripping of the altar.

Worship time:  7:30 pm (also livestreamed)

Good Friday - April 18

We remember the betrayal, arrest, crucifixion, and death of Jesus through the musical setting of "The Passion of St John" by Tomás Luis de Victoria.

Worship time:  12:00 noon (also livestreamed)

Easter Sunday - April 20

We celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Worship music will feature a brass quintet and timpani to accompany the traditional festive hymns and choir. Make a joyful noise and raise the roof while singing “Jesus Christ is Risen Today.”

Worship times:  9:00 am and 11:15 am (also livestreamed)

At 10:00 am, we invite you to join our children's Easter Egg Hunt on the Tower Lawn and a delicious Easter Brunch in the Parish Hall.
