The Greek word Koinonia appears 19 times in the Greek New Testament. It invokes concepts of community, fellowship, sharing, and relationship. St. John's Koinonia Dinner Groups draw on the ancient Christian tradition of table fellowship and our long parish tradition breaking bread together to build fellowship in our community!
All parishioners are invited to join our Koinonia network! Every fall we establish "K-Groups" of six to eight people who would like to get together for dinner once a month, from October to June, in each others' homes or elsewhere. Just sign up to participate and we will set up groups, recruit the hosts of the first dinners, and put people in touch. Participants take it from there to set up their group’s monthly dinners!
If you'd like to join a Koinonia group, please sign up at the Renewal Sunday Ministry Fair on September 7, use the form below to contact the Rev. Anne Derse, or use the Koinonia sign-up sheet outside the church office by September 15. We love to see longstanding and newer members of St. John's deepen relationships and discover new connections. For an insider perspective, please read Margaret Uhar's testimonial.
