As we enter the month of June, our hearts turn toward celebration, love, and the continuing journey towards full equality. This Pride season, St. John’s parishioners have two wonderful opportunities to witness our faith in action and share Christ's love with our broader community.
June 7: March with Us in the WorldPride Parade!
We invite all members of the congregation to join us in marching in this year's WorldPride Parade on Saturday, June 7th in Washington, DC! Walking together as a faith community, we will carry banners proclaiming God's inclusive love and our commitment to welcoming all people.
By marching together, we demonstrate that our church doors are truly open to all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Our presence shows the LGBTQ+ community that they have allies in the Episcopal Church who celebrate their dignity and worth.

June 29: Help Staff Our Booth at Pride in the Plaza
St. John’s will continue our Pride month engagement by hosting a booth at Montgomery County’s Pride in the Plaza festival in Silver Spring on Sunday, June 29.
This family-friendly event draws thousands of people from across our region, making it a perfect opportunity to share information about our welcoming community.
We need volunteers to help staff our booth throughout the day—whether for an hour or the entire event. No special skills required, just a friendly smile and willingness to answer questions about our parish. It's a wonderful way to meet new people and invite them into our community of faith.
