An Evening With New Story Leadership

Sunday, July 13  |  7:00 PM  |  Nave  -

Hear from a team of young Israeli and Palestinian professionals who are working together to develop a plan for an equitable, peaceful future for their region!

On Sunday, July 13, beginning at 7:00 pm, St. John's Norwood will host alumni members of New Story Leadership (NSL) who have produced a post-peace plan for an equitable, peaceful future for their region:  The Phoenix Framework.  The alumni delegation will be in Washington the week of July 6-13 to meet with Congressional representatives, think tanks, embassies, and faith communities.

Since the Gaza War started, NSL has not been able to host its normal summer program. But NSL’s alumni have reached out to support one another and together developed key practical steps that could lead to that “New Story” they want to see. This framework is garnering international attention as the only document jointly prepared by both young Palestinians and young Israeli leaders.

The July 13 program will include a review of key elements of the evolving Phoenix Framework, including a new chapter on managing trauma in both societies and discussion of one other chapter anticipated on women's role in peace-making. They will also share the exciting news of their recent engagements more broadly in the region, and with officials and organizations in Geneva, in the European Union and in the French Government. Reactions to their work have been very positive, in part because it remains the only document of its kind prepared jointly by Israeli and Palestinian young leaders—young leaders that have lived through countless wars in their young lives and who want to build something different together—that NSL aspires to help create.
