The Sacred Ground dialogue series on race has been revised and updated! The format remains small-group discussions of films and readings, which explore the history of race in the U.S. while also weaving in threads of family stories, economic class, and political and regional identity. Grounded in our call to faith, hope, and love, the curriculum invites us to a deeper understanding of how our history has led us to the divides and challenges of the present day. Sacred Ground is part of Becoming Beloved Community, The Episcopal Church’s long-term commitment to racial healing, reconciliation, and justice in our personal lives, our ministries, and our society.
We will meet on Monday evenings from October to January on Zoom. If you haven't yet participated, talk with some of the over 45 St. John's parishioners who have already completed the 11-week course! (And with significant revisions to the curriculum, program alums should also consider returning!)
