Come celebrate our St. John’s community at our first "First Sunday Supper," made possible by an abundance of Third Sunday Supper ministry hosts—a good problem to have! Enjoy a delicious harvest dinner featuring sweet potato stew, spanakopita, curries, samosas, fresh salads and breads, and more, with plenty of hearty, protein-rich options. Desserts, soft drinks, wine, and coffee will round out the evening.
Our speaker is Dr. Brian Evans, an ornithologist formerly with the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center. Brian will take us to the tropical forests where our coffee is grown, exploring how coffee production affects rainforests and migratory bird habitat, and how shade-grown coffee can help protect both. We’ll offer a tasting of several bird-friendly varieties from Chesapeake Coffee Roasters, whose coffee St. John’s serves every Sunday.
