Sept. 27 – “Bad Faith” Screening & Discussion

Please join the Faith & Democracy Ministry of St. John’s Episcopal Church Norwood Parish in Chevy Chase, Maryland on September 27, 2026 from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm for a screening of the documentary film Bad Faith: 2026.  The screening will be followed by a discussion and Q&A with renowned author and journalist Anne Nelson, and moderated by St. John’s Deacon, The Reverend Anne Derse.

Originally released in 2024 and updated in 2026, “Bad Faith” explores how Christian Nationalism has become a powerful anti-democratic force in America. In its own report released in 2024, “The Crisis of Christian Nationalism,” the House of Bishops Theology Committee of the Episcopal Church explores the rise and influence of Christian Nationalism in the United States, including its connection to white supremacy, and concludes that the movement is a distortion of Christianity and a threat to democracy which must be challenged.
