Parishioner Joanne Allen invites you to a tour of her latest art exhibition, Constantinople/Istanbul: Art and Religion between East and West, on show at the Katzen Arts Center Rotunda at American University. The tour for St John’s members will be Sunday January 25th at 2pm.  To participate, please sign up here: https://forms.gle/ptfAnuyRSAtJ2MMy9

Constantinople/Istanbul will explore the city's rich history, from its Roman origins and role as a center of Orthodox Christianity to its transformation under Ottoman rule. The exhibition will feature Joanne’s original artwork—drawings, paintings, prints, and fabrics—depicting artistic marvels such as the Chora Church mosaics, the Hagia Sophia's intricate capitals, the Blue Mosque (pictured), and Ottoman-era tiles and carvings. Through these artworks, the exhibition will illuminate the artistic and spiritual interplay between different religions and historical periods. The exhibition will run from January 17th through February 8th.  You can preview the images and labels via the exhibition website.
