September 28 is Outreach Sunday to Benefit the Bishop John T. Walker School

On Sunday, September 28, all undesignated checks and cash offerings will be donated to the Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys.  Named in honor of the first African-American Bishop in the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, the school provides full tuition support for 90 boys in Kindergarten-5th grade.  Teachers provide engaging lessons, creating a supportive environment that develops academic, social, and emotional skills and prepares the boys for leadership and service.  Sixty percent of BWS families live in Southeast Washington, DC and thirty-five percent in Prince George's County.

As you reflect on how our area's excellent schools have benefitted you and your family, please give generously to help BWS open educational doors for boys growing up in a less-advantaged area. Donations may be made via Breeze (Select “Outreach Sunday: Bishop John T. Walker School” from the drop-down menu.); by texting “outreach” to (301) 685-7608; or by check, payable to St. John’s Norwood with “Bishop Walker School” on the memo line. Thanks!
