May 18 Third Sunday Supper, hosted by the Holy Land Committee

Sunday, May 18  |  6:00 pm  |  Parish Hall -

The Holy Land Committee invites you to join us for a Third Sunday Supper on May 18 at 6 pm in the Parish Hall. This supper will feature Middle Eastern food and a talk with Hani Almadhoun (pictured), who is very active in trying to save Palestinian lives in Gaza. Hani is UNRWA (UN Relief and Works Agency) USA’s Director of Philanthropy, and a de facto publicist and fundraiser for the community-led Gaza Soup Kitchen, to which his family have committed their lives in Gaza.

Hani is a Palestinian-American, born in the Emirates, whose family fled to Gaza after the 1991 Gulf War. His parents and surviving siblings remain in Gaza, and he is in touch with them and Gaza Soup Kitchen staff daily; he was last able to visit in person in the summer of 2023. Hani’s dad taught at an UNRWA school and Hani was raised understanding that school is the top priority, eventually coming to America with a scholarship to Brigham Young University, where he earned BS and MA degrees in International Studies and Public Administration, respectively. He is a Board Member of BYU’s Business School.

All are welcome to join us for this heart-, brain-, and stomach-stimulating supper. For questions, please use the form below to contact Kirk Campbell or HLC convener Nancy Adams.
