Faith in Action Committee Meeting

MEETS THE 1ST SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH @ 12:30 PM

If you want to get involved in or start a ministry at St. John's, join us to learn how members are transforming our mission and goals into action and how you can become a part of this transformation.

This Committee meets the first Sunday of every month at 12:30 pm.

Mission Statement

Faith in Action facilitates concrete engagement by members of St. John’s and others on important social issues of concern to the parish and the community.  Faith in Action rests on the values of inclusion, compassion, charity, and openness that grow from our Christian faith.

Goals

  1. Identify opportunities for individuals to take concrete action on issues of concern.  Those issues include but are not limited to refugees and immigration, the environment, religious and ethnic discrimination, minority and women’s rights, and political and human rights, including the right to be safe from gun violence.
  2. Build bridges to Muslim, Jewish, and other faith communities to show solidarity on these issues.  Serve as a clearinghouse for basic information on ways we can help and provide links to other organizations and networks through which individual members can act.
