Sunday, April 13 | 10:00 am | Parish Hall / Zoom
In recent months we have witnessed numerous attacks and alarming rhetoric on climate change issues and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) issues from the federal level. But how do these policies affect us locally, and what can we do about it?
At our April 13 Forum, special guest Lydia Lawrence, Conservation Director at Nature Forward (formerly known as Audubon Naturalist Society), will help us explore the connections between DEI and climate change, how both these issues affect us today, and what our responsibility is as Christians to take action. Lawrence leads the organization’s advocacy and community outreach across the DC-metro region, and also serves as a Gubernatorial Appointee for Virginia's Council of Environmental Justice.
Join us on Sunday, April 13, at 10:00 am, for this important discussion about what we can do, practically, to make progress on these issues in our community. You can participate either in-person in the Parish Hall or virtually via Zoom (link: bit.ly/STJNmain).
Also during the April 13 forum hour, don’t miss our second church-wide Plant Swap!
Coordinated by parishioner Lydia Liu, the plant swap is a great opportunity to share your extra vegetable seedlings, flowers, houseplants, and best of all—native plants—with fellow gardening enthusiasts. (Please, no invasive species!)
Bring your plants to the Parish Hall any time on Sunday before the 10 am forum. Even if you don’t have anything to bring, come anyway! We’ll have plenty of plants to share, including shrubby St. John’s wort, golden ragwort, dwarf crested iris, and more.
