Pro Musica is excited to present "The Earth Rejoices," a concert that celebrates the wonder, beauty, and majesty of Creation. Beginning with the fascinating works of Henry Purcell and Carlyle Sharpe, "Soul of the World" and "Laudate Nomen," the pieces explore how the various and scattered elements of the world came together in one perfect harmony. This is followed by a reflection on the brilliance of creation with "Achieved is the Glorious Work" from Haydn’s Creation. The spirit of rejoicing and praise continues through compositions by Ivo Antognini, Larry Nickel, Howard Helvey, and many others, presenting choral settings ranging from the classical choral tradition to those inspired by the rich traditions of Negro spirituals, jazz, and gospel music.
Pro Musica is a culturally rich ensemble of approximately 24 auditioned singers hailing from over 15 counties. This diversity enables the group to authentically blend music from Indigenous traditions across the globe within the choral and concert medium, creating a unique and enriched experience for both the ensemble and its audience.
Join us for an unforgettable celebration of creation and music.
