St. John’s Racial Justice and Equity (RJE) Committee was chartered by the Vestry to build a shared vision of the “Beloved Community” within the parish and our broader community, to develop an action plan to work to achieve it, and to support initiatives undertaken by church ministries, staff and members. We seek to foster a welcoming and inclusive congregation through sustained efforts to undo structures and practices of racism and white privilege first within the congregation but also in the broader community. It builds on the work of the former Racial Justice and Equity Taskforce, which shepherded the parish through discernment of its Faith-Driven Response to Legacy of Slavery and Racism.
Please join us for our next meeting on Monday, May 8 at 6:00 pm, by Zoom. Contact Lisa Raisner, Interim Chair, for Zoom link or other information.
