Outreach Sunday for Episcopal Relief & Development

February 28

On Sunday, February 28th, please give generously to help Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) respond to COVID-19.

ERD is collaborating with partners on emergency responses to the pandemic in Afghanistan, Angola, Brazil, Columbia, Dominican Republic, and Pakistan. Local partners in these countries are providing food, personal protective equipment, and pastoral and emotional support to refugees, indigenous communities, the elderly, women, and other marginalized groups. They are also educating communities about the coronavirus and how to reduce its potential spread through radio campaigns and training workshops.

For example, the Igreja Anglicana em Angola (IAA) has partnered with communities on a radio campaign with information about hygiene and sanitation to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, reaching 60,000 people and has trained over 9,000 people on COVID-19 prevention strategies. In another example, ERD supports Afghans4Tomorrow and other local groups in a coordinated humanitarian effort to support the large number of Afghan refugees who returned from Iran at the start of the pandemic.

Please give generously to ERD by one of the following methods:

  1. Breeze: Select “Outreach Sunday” in the fund drop-down menu and list “ERD” on the comment line on the second page. Please consider covering the processing fee.
  2. Text “outreach” to (301) 685-7608
  3. Checks made payable to St. John’s Norwood Episcopal Church with “ERD” on the memo line
