Lay-led Contemplative Service for Advent

In times of enhanced stress and strain—for instance, the pandemic, Russia’s attack on Ukraine, and now, escalating conflict in Israel-Palestine—many may welcome a quieter and more intimate service.

To answer that need, St. John’s will offer nearly a dozen lay-led Wednesday evening services, starting at 7:30 pm in St. Mary’s Chapel, over the course of the program year.  Led by parishioners, they will feature either Compline or Evening Prayer, sometimes with meditation.

Three of those services will occur during Advent, as the days grow darker and we long for the return of the light.
