Holy Land Forum with Kairos USA
The Holy Land Committee (HLC) invites you to join the final forum in our three-part series focused on social justice in the Holy Land. This series took on added relevance with the Israeli government threat to annex as much as 30% of the West Bank it occupied after the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.
Our speakers have a range of expertise on Episcopal, ecumenical, and Palestinian Christian views of the military occupation and social justice efforts to counter it and to gain dignity and equality for the oppressed. If you missed either of the first two forums, you can find information about the speakers and links to their discussions here.
On July 26, Mark Braverman, Executive Director, Kairos USA, will talk about the Palestinian Christian call for assistance and the global Kairos (biblically, “the opportune time”) movement that emerged in support of it. Mark will connect this movement and the theology at its core with the struggle against racism and injustice that has come to the forefront of our awareness in America. Mark is also a co-founder of Friends of Tent of Nations North America, a non-profit dedicated to supporting Palestinian land rights and peaceful co-existence in historic Palestine. Maura Lynch will moderate.
