Holy Land Forum with Brian Grieves
The St. John’s Holy Land Committee (HLC) invites you to participate in our new three-part series starting July 12 which will focus on advocating for social justice in the Holy Land. Although the adult forum series ended in June, the HLC is hosting this new series in light of the Israeli government’s threat to annex – as early as July 1st – as much as 30% of the West Bank it has occupied since the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.
Our new “Social Justice in the Holy Land” series will feature three speakers with a range of expertise to provide Episcopal, ecumenical, and Palestinian Christian views of the military occupation and social justice efforts to counter it and to gain dignity and equal treatment for the oppressed. Additional details:
On July 12, in partnership with St. John’s Faith in Action Team, Brian Grieves, Director of the Episcopal Church’s Peace and Justice Ministries, will talk about the Church’s position on a broad spectrum of social justice issues, including the Holy Land. The Rev. Dr. Brian Grieves has been a key leader in the Episcopal Church’s global peace, justice, and advocacy work for 21 years, serving nine presiding bishops. Lisa Raisner will moderate.
