Capital Pride Parade
Participate in the Pride Parade on Saturday, June 9!
This will be St. John’s seventh year in a row participating in the parade. Thank you for making an effort to be there so that we can send a strong message of the church’s healing and inclusive love. Here are the details:
Where: We meet on the block of 22nd Street right in front of the Church of the Pilgrims. Please use Metro or park elsewhere and walk to this staging area.
When: Gather at 3:30 pm.
After: The parade ends at the intersection of R and 14th, so please plan and park accordingly so that you know where you’re going at the end of the parade. They split walkers from vehicles, so we’ll hug and say our goodbyes at R and 14th!
Remember: You’ll need to wear comfy shoes and a hat! Please bring water and maybe a snack or two, and cash if you want to buy anything from vendors before the parade. Also, there is a forecast of possible rain, so please prepare for that chance!
Consistent with our Diversity Statement, St. John’s will embody God’s love in this tangible way. If you are interested in participating in the parade, or just learning more, contact Carol Assmann or Todd Thomas. You can also sign up here.
