2nd Annual Taste of Communities United
|Please join CUAH on Sunday, April 28th at 6 – 8:30 pm for our second annual Taste of Communities United. Bring your families, sample street food from around the world, and bid on awesome silent auction items. The food from 25 different countries during last year Taste of Communities United was incredible, and it will be even better this year. The event will take place again at St. John’s Episcopal Church (Parish Hall), 6701 Wisconsin Ave, Chevy Chase, MD.
We will honor Congressman Jamie Raskin, Montgomery College President Dr. DeRionne Pollard, and CASA Executive Director Gustavo Torres for their work over the years advancing CUAH’s mission to unite our diverse community to combat bigotry, support victims of hate, and promote inclusiveness in Montgomery County.
Your financial donations will support CUAH’s online engagement efforts and our Youth Creating Change program. YCC is providing monthly organizer training sessions, mentoring, grant support, and public recognition for more than 30 YCC fellows who are leading 20 different social justice projects in high schools and middle schools all over the county. These inspiring YCC Fellows are addressing the achievement gap, advocating for gun safety, fighting sexual harassment in high schools, raising awareness for students with autism, creating an art mural through an inclusive model of school-wide engagement, and building other innovative projects in our diverse communities. Our Fellows and their projects will be featured at the first annual YCC Social Change Conference, in early June.
