The former “Alleluia Choir” is rebranded and will sing at 9:00 am services.

Children that used to sing (pre-COVID) with the intergenerational Alleluia Choir at 9:00 services have now been brought into St. John’s Choristers program. The choir that will sing for the newly reinstated 9:00 am service has thus been rebranded as The St. John’s Singers.
This choir will be open to college and high school (grades 9-12) students as well as adults. The music will be less challenging than that of the St John’s Choir, and will not require as many singers nor as many voice parts. Rehearsals will be held on Wednesday nights at 7:30 in the choir room, but for those who can’t make the weekday rehearsal, there will be also be a rehearsal on Sunday morning at 8:00 am on the days the Singers perform.
Our first rehearsal will be September 13th at 7:30 in the choir room. The Singers will first take part in worship on Sunday, September 24, so there are two weeks of rehearsals to prepare for that service.
The St John’s Singers provides a great opportunity for high school and college age singers to participate. This is an excellent way to share their musical gifts at St John’s, especially if they participate in a choir at their school.
If you are interested and haven’t sung at the 9am service before, please reach out to our Interim Director of Music, Jason West. He will help discern what voice part you sing, and can prepare a music folder for your first rehearsal.
