Do you have a child who likes to sing? Consider enrolling them in St. John’s Choristers Choir, a musical program for children in grades 3 through 8 that focuses on singing, musician education, and leadership in the worship service.
Like last year, rehearsals will remain on Wednesdays, starting with snacks in the Lounge at 4:45 pm, and ending at 6:00 pm. Vocal coach Rebecca Ehren will return to work with the group and provide voice lessons for all the children who join the choir. (This individual training is unique to St John’s and is a wonderful benefit of participating in the choir!) Then on selected Sundays, the Chorister Choir will sing for the reinstated 9:00 am service. This will give the Choristers more opportunities to sing, either by themselves or with adults of the Alleluia Choir.
Rehearsals start September 6, the first Wednesday after Labor Day. If you think your child is interested in joining the Choristers, please contact our new Interim Director of Music Ministries, Jason West. Jason has directed several Chorister Choirs in the past and is excited to meet and work with your child!
