After more than five years of faithful service at St. John’s as our Director of Music Ministries, Karl Robson has accepted an invitation to serve as the first full-time Director of Music at another Episcopal church in our area, on an initial two-year interim basis. While Karl was not actively seeking to leave St. John’s, he responded to an invitation from a priest known to him during his time in graduate school. After much prayer and discernment, he felt drawn to this new and unexpected opportunity.
St. John’s Vestry and Personnel Committee have already begun the process of conducting a search for a new Director of Music Ministries. The initial work will focus on hiring an interim organist/choir director followed by conducting a comprehensive search process. An essential element of our process will include the formation of a search committee. Periodic updates will be provided as this process unfolds.
Karl’s final Sunday at St. John’s will be on August 20, when we will officially send him off with a prayer during the service and a reception afterwards.
