Household donations needed! Furnishing Newcomers, St. John’s initiative to supply migrant newcomers from the southern border with furniture, housewares and helping hands, is preparing to furnish an apartment for a second family. We are seeking contributions of household items, or funds for the purchase of items, to provide apartment essentials to a family of six from Peru. Parents and four children will be moving into their first, more permanent Montgomery County residence on Friday, June 23.
Please see the SignUp Genius to learn how to contribute. Furnishing Newcomers can only accept donations of items that are on the SignUp Genius list. Any questions about furniture donations should be directed to Cindy Anderson or Liz Jones and include a photo and dimensions of any furniture being offered. Purchased items may be sent to Cindy (mailing address in the sign up) or brought to St. John’s Parish Hall during the following times:
- Sunday, June 18 – 10:00 – 10:30 and 11:30 – 12:00
- Tuesday, June 20 – 1:00 – 3:00
- Thursday, June 22 – 5:00 – 7:00
