St. John’s May Outreach partner is United Thank Offering (UTO). Specified outreach donations plus all undesignated offerings will go to the United Thank Offering (UTO)–a ministry that awards grants for humanitarian projects of Episcopal churches, schools, and hospitals in the United States and worldwide.
UTO invites you to a daily practice of gratitude, thanking God for each day’s blessings and setting aside a small offering for your Outreach Sunday donation. Researchers have found that practicing gratitude daily is associated with increased physical and mental health and social connections. (Read more at https://unitedthankoffering.com/whygratitude/)
One hundred percent of your donation will support critical humanitarian projects in 2023. Over the next three years, the United Thank Offering, in the spirit of Matthew 25:36, will focus on ministries serving those whom society has left out and left behind. This year’s grants will be targeted to innovative mission and ministry projects addressing all aspects of the worldwide incarceration crisis, specifically preventative programs and intervention, prisoner support outreach, prison reform work, or post-prison re-entry. You can donate to this ministry in person at church on May 21, by texting “outreach” to (301) 685-7608, or via Breeze (by selecting “Outreach Sunday: United Thank Offering” from the dropdown menu). Thanks in advance for your generous support!
