Do you want to converse seriously about how the Bible and your understanding of faith intersect with living? Do you want to share your spiritual journey in a safe and supportive environment? Do you like to read?
For adults seeking spiritual depth and those who want to explore and grow in faith, a wonderful community has developed over time from successive Education for Ministry groups that meet on Wednesday nights on Zoom. The small group (6–12) meets weekly from September to May. We take turns leading worship, the week’s reading, and theological reflection (experienced students take the lead first).
Participation leads to the discernment of lay Christian ministry through development of knowledge, discussion, spiritual practice, and identity as Christians. The cost ($325) includes a guide book and some e-books for your year of study; scholarships are available. Participants should obtain three or more new or used books for each year’s study and a Bible. First year students will need four books. Registration is online and begins July 5.
To learn more, view a recording of the April 30 Adult Ed Forum, and pick up a flyer on the bulletin board near the lounge and the hall crossing.
Those with interest in participating should contact mentor Barbara Ordway, who will answer questions and provide information for signing up and obtaining books. By contacting efm.edow.org, you can find other dates and times in the diocese.
