America Talks: Address Polarization, One Conversation at a Time: June 12-13

A new initiative called America Talks is hosting what it hopes to be 10,000 or more conversations on June 12 and 13, 2021 whose purpose is to help Americans connect virtually one-on-one, face-to-face across our political divides. The purpose of these conversations is to remind ourselves that the “other” is – just like us – a person with family, friends, hopes, fears, values, beliefs, and intrinsic worth. You are far from alone if you wish you could be part of a meaningful effort to heal the growing, polarized and dismaying divide among US citizens, family members, friends and neighbors. America Talks is one constructive step you can take to try and help heal this. The conversations themselves can last up to 60 minutes and are preceded by a 30-minute session for all participants.

  • Learn more by going to America Talks‘ website.
  • Here is a short video to give you a sense of the conversations.
