Wilderness Escape 2020: An At-Home Family Bible Camp

Get ready for Wilderness Escape 2020: An At-Home Family Bible Camp experience! This program is designed for families with children from 3 years through 6th grade.

This homegrown program of video Bible lessons, discussion questions, music, movement, and crafts features St. John’s faces, including someone you know and love playing Moses! Additionally, each St. John’s family will receive a take-home box full of program materials.

How do I get my materials?

On Sunday, August 2, from 12:30 to 1:00 pm, load your family into the car and head south on West Avenue (toward Bradley) to the breezeway entrance at the back of the church. Stay in your car and we will load a Take-Home Family Pack – created just for you! – into the back of your car. This will be a chance for you to see Church School friends! We will even have a popsicle for you!

Not able to join us on August 2? Email dmolloy@stjohnsnorwood.org, and we will work it out!

What’s the schedule?

Because this is an at-home program with four modules, you are free to use it at any time that works for you. However, we envisioned families completing one module per week during the month of August. Each video is about 25 minutes. Adding discussion and craft, each module will take your family about an hour to complete.

How can I connect with other families?

In our current season, we are struggling to find ways to connect. We encourage you to connect with another family from the church to complete the program, meeting virtually, or if you are comfortable, perhaps meeting in someone’s backyard and following recommended social distancing and mask guidelines.

We also invite you to connect via our private Facebook group, “St. John’s Families.” Click here to find the group and request permission to join.

We look forward to seeing you Sunday, August 2, 12:30-1:00 pm!
