Grants for Young Adult Mission Trip to the Holy Land

The Olive Oil Ministry (OOM), of which St. John’s is a member, is offering grants of $1,000 to support young members of OOM congregations (ages 18-35) to participate in the “Israel and Palestine Mission Trip for Young Adults and Professionals,” organized by Overlake Christian Church in Seattle, Washington with support from Churches for Middle East Peace (CMEP) and MEJDI Tours.

This 10-day trip (October 30 – November 10, 2019) has been timed to coincide with the peak of the olive harvest in Palestine, a unique time when multiple generations of Palestinian families come together to harvest the olive crop. The trip will combine guided visits to important holy sites in Bethlehem and Jerusalem, learning and hearing first-hand the contemporary, multi-narrative story of the people of the Holy Land, and three days of volunteer work and residence at Tent of Nations, which the OOM supports with the sale of olive oil and other fair-trade products.
The estimated cost of the trip will depend upon the total number of travelers, but will run from approximately $1,370-$1,925 plus airfare. The OOM will provide grants of $1,000 towards the cost of the trip.

The deadline for applying is May 15, 2019. Please contact us via email (office@stjohnsnorwood.org) for more information and the application form. You can also find more information about the pilgrimage and grant by clicking here.
