Blessing of the Animals

Pets of all kinds are invited to the St. John’s 5:00 pm “Come as You Are” service on Sunday, October 1, to receive a special blessing.

The Blessing of the Animals is traditionally held on or around October 4, the feast day of Francis of Assisi, who was known for his love of animals and the environment. It is an occassion to thank God for the pets who bring us joy and a reminder that we are part of God’s cosmic family.
