St. John’s helps children find their gifts and use them to serve others.
Sunday morning Church School anchors our youth programs. Nearly three dozen teachers help our 250+ children and teens learn Christ’s teachings and grow by building community and strengthening character, in classes for each age or grade. Field trips, service projects, musical productions and an international pilgrimage for high schoolers round out the program.

Music for children and teens
There’s a place for both new and experienced young musicians at St. John’s. Children and teens from Kindergarten through high school can join one of St. John’s three choirs for young people. Musicians can also play in our handbell choir, volunteer to perform an instrumental solo during a Sunday service, or participate in one of the church school’s annual musical productions. Learn more.
Open to 7th to 12th graders and meeting regularly on Sunday evenings from 5:30-7:30 pm (September-June), the Youth Group focuses on service projects and fun recreation, including our September beach trip and January ski trip. All youth are welcome to join us. We meet most Sunday nights (check the Sunday bulletin) for pizza and fellowship in the youth room downstairs! Learn more.
Every July the Youth Group sets off on a week-long mission trip to Camp Joy in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia, joining groups from other churches to repair houses for the needy. Our teens help fund the trip through car washes, bake sales and other events. Many find unexpected gifts in this special week of fellowship, hard work and service to others.
St. John’s Journey to Adulthood (J2A) church school program for teens culminates in a week-long international summer pilgrimage for rising 11th and 12th graders. The class prepares and plans throughout the year, joining together every Sunday during the 10 am church school hour. Past J2A groups have journeyed to Spain, France, Ireland, Iceland and the Galapagos Islands.
