Life in our congregation is centered in worship. We come together on Sunday mornings to renew our commitment to Jesus Christ and to listen, learning what God has in store for us. At any of our services you can choose to receive the bread and wine of Holy Communion - this is open to everyone. With five services to choose from, you're sure to find one that fits what you're looking for (read more below). Please join us - all are welcome!
Summer and 4 other Sundays: 10am replaces 9am and 11:15am.

8 am - All year
In this simple, spoken, communion service in St. Mary’s Chapel, you'll find quiet time for reflection and peaceful prayer, gathering with others in an intimate setting to hear the day's sermon and scriptures.
9 am - mid-Sept to mid-June
Beginning the 2nd Sunday after Labor Day -- Our 9 am communion service combines scripture, music, lessons, and prayer in a celebration of God's work in our lives, with music led by the Alleluia Choir. We offer Children's Chapel in Hines Hall during this hour for pre-readers through second graders; parents can choose to stay with their children or attend the main service. Many of St. John's children and young adults attend our 9 am service with their families, though young people are welcome at any other service as well. Also during this service you can choose to pray with a healing prayer minister.
9 am Children's Chapel - mid-Sept to mid-June
Beginning the 2nd Sunday after Labor Day -- Pre-readers age 3 through 2nd graders can enjoy Children's Chapel in our downstairs Hines Hall, where our children's chapel minister uses bible stories, music and more to help children experience and understand the love of God and the beauty of the world. Parents can choose to stay with their children or attend the main service. At 9:45 the minister leads the children back upstairs to join their parents in the sanctuary (after the sermon).
10 am - Summer and 4 other Sundays
On most Sunday mornings we worship at 9:00 and 11:15. But on some Sundays we replace those two services with one service at 10 am:
Summer, from mid-June through the Sunday following Labor Day;
The Sunday after Thanksgiving;
The first two Sundays after Christmas;
The second Sunday after Easter, when our annual parish meeting follows the service.
11:15 am - mid-Sept to mid-June
Beginning the 2nd Sunday after Labor Day -- St. John's 11:15 am communion service is a traditional celebration of God's love and presence in our lives. We worship through scripture, lessons, prayers, and hymns, with music led by the St. John's choir. Also during this service you can choose to pray with a healing prayer minister.
5 pm - All year
"Come as you are" at 5 pm to join our informal communion service in the sanctuary. We sing simple, beautiful hymns with the piano, and we gather around the altar together for communion. We often enjoy impromptu discussion after the sermon. It's a perfect end to a busy weekend.
Noon Wednesday Service - All year
You'll find St. John's Wednesday noontime service in our St. Mary's Chapel, next to the main sanctuary. It's a small, quiet communion service, perfect for putting mid-week stress in perspective. This service includes a healing prayer led by our clergy.
