Children are welcomed and loved at St. John’s, and can attend any of our worship services. We also have a popular church school hour from 10-11 a.m., right after the 9:00 a.m. service.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these…. whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”
~ Matthew 19:13, 18:5
To help families attend our worship services, we offer Kids’ Kits that children between the ages of 2 and 11 years can use as they sit through the service. These drawstring bags contain lacing cards, an Etch-a-Sketch, a lift-the-flap Bible, and books designed to help children learn about the Episcopal tradition, liturgical items, and feast days.
Parents attending our 9:00 or 10:00 a.m. worship services can take advantage of Children’s Chapel, which is available for younger children (prereaders, ages 3 through 2nd grade).
Our children’s minister uses Bible stories, music and movement to help children see God’s blessings in their lives and the world around them.
Parents can choose to stay with their children or attend the main service. After the sermon, children return to the sanctuary to join their parents.
Children of all ages are welcome to attend any of our worship services. We also provide child care in our Nursery for infants and children under five during the 9:00, 10:00 and 11:15 a.m. services.
