Children in Worship

Children are welcomed and loved at St. John’s, especially during our worship services.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these…. whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”

~ Matthew 19:13, 18:5

Children's Chapel

Children's Chapel

To help younger children experience and understand the love of God and the beauty of the world, St. John’s offers a Children’s Chapel during our 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. worship services.

Our Children’s Chapel minister uses Bible stories, music and more to help prereaders (ages 3 through 2nd grade) see God’s blessings in their lives and the world around them.

Parents can choose to stay with their children or attend the main service. After the sermon, the children return to the sanctuary to join their parents.

Kid's Kits

To help your child and you stay engaged during the worship service, we offer Kids’ Kits for children between the ages of 2 and 11 years. These drawstring bags contain lacing cards, an Etch-a-Sketch, a lift-the-flap Bible, and books designed to help children learn about the Episcopal tradition, liturgical items, and feast days.
