Silent Movie Night on April 23rd

When was the last time you attended a Third Sunday Supper? Did you come in March for the annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner sponsored by the Youth Group? Have you attended our popular Broadway & Chocolate event in February? Were you tempted by the “fabulous prizes” offered at Pasta Bingo? Was your voice added to the carol sing at the Parish Open House in December?
Over the years the sponsoring groups have prepared different menus and offered a variety of programs, but the Third Sunday Suppers all serve the same purpose – to bring our communities together for food and fellowship.

Our April 23th music-sponsored Third Sunday Supper will feature our popular roast beef dinner. After dinner, we’ll be turning the church into an old-time movie theater showing family-friendly silent comedy “shorts” with organ accompaniment provided by Jonathan Oblander, tonal director of Berghaus Pipe Organ Builders and the mastermind behind our organ’s sound.

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Music in Organ Performance from Valparaiso University and a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School. Jonathan joined the Berghaus firm in 2006, and drawing on his experience as a professional organist, is responsible for the tonal design of new instruments, which incorporate his knowledge of the organ repertoire from both a service-playing and recital perspective.

Dinner and conversation begins in the Parish Hall at 5:45 pm., followed by the hour-long silent movie program for all ages in the church at 6:30 pm. $5 per person/$10 for two/ $15 for families of three or more.
