By Nancy Derr, Church School Director
The many guests at the lively Saturday night event at St. John’s were transported into western Canada as they walked into the church lobby — walls newly covered in stone and logs, inflatable moose heads and apparent campfires complementing the many tall trees of the parish hall and the northern lights above our heads.
The meal was delicious! Decor and food were spearheaded by Brooke Lindsay, Jessica Doran and Gary Hechler, who with Carolyn Schugar ran the live auction. The beautiful Banff symbol has the design eye of Todd Thomas behind it. In the back room, the team who
made the check-out easy was headed by Dawn Harris and Tim Dobbyn, who also composed the auction booklet. Auction donations and ticket sales and publicity were led by Johnna Story, Christine Dallaire, Elizabeth Zehner, and Anne Lubenow.
The calm and well-organized twosome at the top of the chain of many hard-working families? Shirley Sagawa and Sheila Temourian pulled all the volunteers together. We thank them for a wonderful evening.
Our supportive parish enjoyed seeing the twenty-five teenagers, dressed in flannels, wait on tables: they will be heading to Banff via Calgary, June 17-23, for their spiritual pilgrimage. You can read a profile of each of them on the bulletin board between the lobby and the library.
