Tuesday Night Bible Study

Sari Ateek
Sari Ateek, Rector

There are two things in particular that had the greatest impact on my spiritual growth and development: community and Bible study. I attended church every Sunday growing up, but it wasn’t until later on, when I found myself studying the Bible in a small group setting, that my spiritual life began to really flourish. I always say that I grew up living with God, but it wasn’t until I started reading and studying the Bible that I began to live for God.

Starting on October 3, I will be leading a Bible Study every Tuesday evening (through December) from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the Lounge for anyone interested in going deeper in their life of faith. This will be a time of fellowship, prayer, and study intended to help us take the next step in our spiritual journey. Bring with you a Bible if you have one as well as an openness and curiosity for what the Spirit of God might have to say to us. You may also find it helpful to have something to write on as you gain new insights and heart lessons that you want to return to later.

In the Episcopal church, we typically use the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) of the Bible, but if you have a different one you can bring that too as it is always useful to compare translations. Feel free also to bring dinner with you if you are coming from work, or don’t have a chance to eat before you arrive. Please feel free to join us every Tuesday, or occasionally as your schedule permits.

I am looking forward to sharing this time and space with you.
